Hyundai announces exclusive version of new eXXite Next e

Hyundai has partnered with Rayvolt to launch an exclusive version of the eXXite

Hyundai has partnered with Rayvolt to launch an exclusive version of the eXXite Next e-bike. The electric bicycle will be offered as a courtesy car alternative in France from late May. Customers will also be able to purchase the bike directly from eXXite. The Hyundai edition of the Next bike will have "cutting-edge technology", though Hyundai does not provide further details.

The new Next and Next Step, step-over and step-through electric bicycles, have an EPAC 250W motor with 50 Nm torque. The engine can assist you at speeds up to 25 kph (~16 mph), with a torque sensor ensuring the motor's output matches your pace. Plus, a Boost button will deliver full power from the engine, which could be helpful from a stop or on an incline. A 36V 14Ah removable battery, stored inside the seat post, allows you to travel with assistance for up to 80 km (~50 miles) on a single charge.

Plus. an Intelligent Regenerative Brake Sensor (iRBS) and back-pedal braking system can extend your range. The Next models have a suspension fork and 27.5 x 1.7-inch tires for a smooth ride. A control panel in the handlebar allows you to select your assistance level and view metrics such as your speed and remaining battery. Should you wish, you can transform the e-bike into an at-home trainer using the RegenFit accessory and Eiva app, offering different resistance levels.

The Hyundai eXXite Next e-bike will retail for €3,490 (~US$3,767); the standard version of the Next and Next Step bicycles will cost €3,150 (~US$3,400) at launch. It is unclear whether or when Hyundai plans to roll out this scheme to other countries.
