Looks like someone forgot to set a geofence around the Interstate.

Joining the rush hour traffic Thursday morning was someone riding an electric scooter along the shoulder near Oak Creek.

Not only is it a curious way to spice up the morning commute, it appears the scooter operator was able to evade law enforcement.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said it was alerted to the situation at 7:40 a.m. when someone reported a scooter sped down the on-ramp onto southbound I-94 at Rawson Avenue.

One mile later, the scooter exited the Interstate at Drexel Avenue only to re-enter the freeway on the southbound on-ramp. It then exited for good about three miles further down on Ryan Road, the sheriff's office said.

Alas, despite escaping the dangers of Interstate traffic, the operator crashed his ride after exiting, traffic cameras show, although the person appeared unhurt.

The scooter was captured on traffic cameras owned by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, but they lost sight of it at 7:56 a.m. after making its freeway exit.

A sheriff's deputy was dispatched to find the scooter at 7:42 a.m., but couldn't locate it before it left the freeway.
